After a brief chat and catch up with the crew we kicked straight off into the session with a low to moderate warm up and static stretch sequence. ESP Coach structured the session slightly different to the usual coporate classes in accordance with what the students wanted to learn. ESP Coach took the students through the most efficient and best choke namely the Rear Naked Choke (RNC).

The womens self defence seminar was hosted by the Eclectic Self Protection Association (ESPA) and was conducted at Hornsey Town Hall in Crouch End, North London on Sunday the 28th January. With lots of electronic advertising and flyer marketing around North London the 3hr Seminar and Workshop had a fantastic turnout of women including mothers, their daughters and other teenagers from all walks of life.

Adult Learners week is a festival of learning and national celebration of life-long learning with ‘have a go’ learning events taking place in May and June every year. Fortunately, enough a martial arts and self-defence instructor was required to run a 3 hr workshop and seminar at the Peabody Trust in South London on Saturday 22/05/04.

Due to the success of the last Self Defence Seminar run at the Peabody Trust for the last Adult Learners Week in 2004, a second 3hr course was organised by the LSBU Academy Of Sport. The event was planned and booked 2 to 3 months in advance by a senior sports coordinator, with the recruitment of a sports ambassador. This was a free ‘unpaid event’ advertised and marketed around South London including Peackam, Elephant & Castle, and Bermonsdey.

The street wise self-defence seminar was one of four seminars to be delivered by a collaboration of the now Eclectic Self Protection (ESP) and Tactical Protection Systems (TPS).
